Parts that fit your Subaru Forester, by department.
Subaru Forester
Parts fit 1998 to 2026. Owner reports cover 1996 to 2025, mapped to 1 NHTSA name, so vehicles of very different ages are counted together.
64 of 117 parts name an engine. The other 51 fit any, so choosing one here only narrows those 64.
What owners report
6 of 12 components, the largest by share, together 57.5% of all mentions. 6,427 reports filed with NHTSA from 1996 to 2025, read through 28 name and year queries against 1 source name. A report can name more than one component, so these 6,427 reports carry 7,871 mentions, 1.22 for each report, and every share below is of those 7,871. 808 more mentions were filed as unknown or other and are excluded from both the rows and the total.
What we can sell for it
117 parts from 30 brands fit this vehicle across 8 categories, and parts listed here fit model years 1998 to 2026. Exhaust Systems is the deepest at 61 parts from 8 brands. 3 of the 6 components above map to a category we stock, and the other 3 map to none.
Where the two lists meet
Each row pairs a reported component with the shelf that answers it, deepest complaint first.
Visibility/wiper is the largest single complaint on this vehicle at 13.4%.
What the complaints table says
Visibility/wiper tops the Forester complaint list at 13.4%, with Engine close behind at 10.3%.
Air Bags sits at 10.2%, and Electrical System follows right after at 10.0%.
These come from NHTSA, the agency that collects reports owners file about their own vehicles.
Power Train and Vehicle Speed Control round out the six rows, at 6.9% and 6.7%.
A share like that means more owners wrote in about that system, not that your Forester will see the same problem.
What the parts table says
Exhaust Systems is the deepest shelf here, 61 parts across 8 brands.
Electrical Parts adds 2 parts, and Drivetrain & Transmission another 2, both matching rows on the left.
Suspension & Steering and Interior Accessories sit outside anything owners reported, at 26 and 19 parts.
