Core charge policy

Some remanufactured parts carry a core charge. It is a fully refundable deposit, added to your order and returned to you in full when you send us your old part. Think of it like the deposit on a glass bottle: you pay it up front and get every cent back when the part comes home. Core returns are how quality remanufactured parts stay affordable, and they keep good components out of landfills.
What is a core charge
The "core" is the old part you remove from your vehicle. Manufacturers rebuild these cores into the remanufactured parts we sell, so every core that comes back helps keep prices low.
When a part has a core charge, the deposit is shown right under the price on the product page and is added to your total at checkout. You pay the part price plus the deposit today, and we refund the deposit once your old part reaches us.
How it works
- Place your order. The refundable core deposit is added to your total at checkout.
- Install your new part. The part you remove is your core. Keep it, along with the box your new part arrived in.
- Send us your old core. After your order ships, we email you return instructions and the address to send it to.
- Get your deposit back. As soon as we receive and check your core, we refund the full deposit to your original payment method.
Getting your core ready
To qualify for a full refund, your core should be:
- The same part you replaced, complete with its main components
- Rebuildable, meaning not cracked, crushed, burned or missing major pieces
- Drained of all fluids and sealed in a plastic bag so nothing leaks in transit
- Packed in the original box your new part arrived in
Returning your core
You have 60 days from delivery to send your core back. After your order ships, we email you step by step return instructions, the return address and your order reference. Please include that reference inside the box so we can match your core to your order quickly.
Cores sent without a reference, to a different address, or after the 60 day window may not qualify for a refund.
Refunds and timing
Once your core arrives, we inspect it and refund the full deposit to your original payment method, usually within 5 to 7 business days. The amount refunded is the exact core deposit shown on the product page for your part.
If a core does not meet the condition requirements above, we will contact you before making any decision about the deposit.
Which parts have a core charge
Only certain remanufactured parts, such as engine and transmission control modules and other rebuildable components. Every product page that has one shows the refundable core deposit right under the price. If you do not see it, there is no core charge on that part.
Common questions
What if I do not send my core back?
That is completely fine. You simply keep the old part and the core deposit is not refunded. There is no other fee or penalty.
How much is the deposit?
It varies by part and is shown on the product page under the price. You are refunded that exact amount when your core arrives.
Can I return a core from a different vehicle or brand?
The core must be the same part type you replaced. A core from a different part cannot be accepted for the refund.
