When the plastic lower half of the original equipment two-piece engine oil pan on certain BMW vehicles warps from heat or cracks from impact, the dealership's repair solution is to replace that failed lower half with the same plastic design. This only invites similar future pan failure and leaks. This Dorman OE FIX oil pan design replaces that original equipment disposable pan section with a lower pan half made of rugged high-pressure diecast aluminum more resistant to heat, corrosion and impact. The included convenient magnetic drain plug also features an angled mount boss that enables a complete drain.
