Replacing the original driveshaft assembly, the Dorman 976-862 is a steel shaft designed to deliver power between the transmission and rear axle. Fits the 1982-1983 Chevrolet S10 and GMC S15. The assembly measures 61.25 inches in length when compressed with a 3.5-inch diameter shaft and 0.083-inch wall thickness, using a slip yoke connection on the transmission side and a universal joint on the rear axle side. CV joints and axle nuts are not included with this standard replacement shaft, which is supplied as a single unit. The non-adjustable design maintains proper alignment for consistent power transmission through the driveline.
