For diesel emissions control with Federal EPA direct-fit compliance, the Eastern Catalytic 40879 is an undercar catalytic converter with a distinctive 3-bolt welded flange inlet. Fits the 1998-2004 Volkswagen Beetle, and the 1999-2004 Volkswagen Golf and Jetta with the 1.9L L4. The converter features zero inlet gaskets and zero oxygen sensor ports specifically for this diesel application, with no outlet gaskets or hardware connections at either point. The converter outlet connects via a 2.18" outside diameter pipe, while the inlet uses a 3-bolt welded flange connection. Manufactured in the United States and not CARB certified, the Eastern Catalytic 40879 includes a 60-month warranty.
