A throw-out bearing, also referred to as a clutch release bearing, part N1491 from Centerforce acts as a direct Original Equipment replacement in most applications. Fits 16 American Motors and Jeep vehicles from 1970 to 1984, including the 1984 Jeep Grand Wagoneer and the 1974–1983 Jeep Cherokee, J10 and J20. Full vehicle list below. Centerforce recommends replacing the pilot bearing or bushing alongside the release bearing during every clutch installation. The bearing features a flat face and groove retention, and it is not self-aligning.
