The COMP Cams Xtreme Energy camshaft delivers enhanced street performance for Ford Small Block engines, offering strong midrange torque and horsepower gains with a smooth idle and responsive throttle—ideal for mild performance upgrades. Designed for everyday drivability, this cam performs exceptionally well with popular combinations like the Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and TCI Saturday Night Special torque converter (1600–1800 stall). Features full-size base circles for durability, it works seamlessly with COMP Cams Evolution hydraulic roller tappets and eliminates the need for dog bones and lifter retainers—components never intended for pre-1985 applications. This camshaft supersedes part number CL31-422-8, providing a reliable and efficient upgrade for balanced street performance.
