COMP Cams 5496 GM LS1/2/3/6 Timing Cover

Designed for performance applications, this cover accommodates OE and aftermarket LS1, 2, 3 and 6. With a provision for a timing pointer, cam sensor or crank trigger, our cover fits double roller timing sets and aftermarket oil pumps. This LS front cover from RHS simply the best and most modular front cover in its class. This cover allows for the installation of a front mount cam sensor, an aftermarket harmonic balancer and even a front mount crank trigger.

COMP Cams LS Timing Cover part # 5496 fits all GM LS Based blocks, OEM and aftermarket, including the RHS® LS Race Block. The cover has a unique design that allows it to work with both front and rear Cam sensor LS engines. It however will not work with the LS7s unique oil pump and chain tensioner setup (Part # 5497 will). These parts are not included with the purchase of an RHS Race Block but are available for purchase separately.

Specifications

Note: Includes timing cover gasket and crank seal. Requires no modification to factory blocks. Variable Valve Timing equipped engines such as the L99, L92, LC9, L20, L9H, L96, LH9, LZ1, LMF, L94 and LC8 all require removal of VVT actuator to fit properly. If building an engine using the two stage LS7 oil pump, use the LS7 Front Cover Kit (COMP #5497). If building an engine using the standard LS single stage oil pump, use the LS1-6 Front Cover Kit (COMP #5496).
